i have not done any tags in ages!! so, why not?? plus this looks pretty interesting.

1) food. music. a good sense of humour. honesty. and reassurance.

it's always at bed time that i cannot sleep. gargh..

anyway, i thought i'd take the time to just give this good ol' blog of mine some love since it hasn't seen a rant in awhile. firstly, adelaide is awesome and i love it!! i wish that certain few people back home could come and experience it even of it's for a bit.

but i came in winter. it's was really really hard for me and i fell sick on the very first night that i was here. it didn't help that i came in the dead of winter and it was FREAKING cold. but spring is on it's way and there are flowers that are blooming in my garden already. i'm hoping that this is a short winter. *fingers crossed*

another thing about coming in winter was that everyone, every single one, told me that i would put on a heap of weight. no congratulations there cause i lost weight. maybe it's got to do with me wanting to eat maggi goreng sooooooooo bad that everything looks and tastes not so good. idontknowwhatever.

besides the weather, i guess the food is another shocker. hahaa.. there's like a list of things that i've been longing to eat and i'm gonna make friends with whoever knows how to cook them. and the list at the moment is:

1) MAGGI GORENG

2) sweet and sour pork

3) ayam masak merah

4) ah yee loh shi fun which if i don't mind replacing with:

ok lah, i could go on but then, it will never end. food aside, i'm starting to really miss salon life. i'm now missing those customer that come in at 6pm for a cut and colour knowing full well that we close at 7pm. the only part that sucked was that i did not get paid. i'm trying, but still haven't got a job at any of the hair shops here and i heard that it's impossible.

i've been having really good exercise in the form of clubbing. i go two/three times a week. i don't drink as much though. owh, i don't really have my own friends. the people i go out with are basically jujube's friend's and i tag along with jujube for the very fact that i cannot make my own friends. this is the scary bit, in my diploma days, it was only in my 4th semester that i made actual friends. that's a year plus. so, eik.... idontwannatalkaboutitalready.

classes gave me a shocker. i don't know if it's because i'm rusty and have been out of it for a year or because i'm just not smart. i got a scare last week when i went for my first lecture. but i think that i need to let it sink in and then i'll feel better about it. hopefully, that helps me do better to. speaking of me not feeling smart, i was told last night that i'm "too witty". i'd say "gee thanks" but apparently it's not a good thing.

that's really funny because i don't think i'm all that witty to start with. i mean, it's just so different here in that sense. i wonder what afie would be if i'm "too witty". she be like like like........like like like........*insert appropriate terminology for that which describes a higher intensity of "too witty"*

well, maybe it just caught me off guard cause no one has said that to me before. at least it flushed all that dumb shit thoughts that i was having of myself after my first week of lectures.

i think that's all the rant i have in me for tonight. and i really should get to sleep. i do not want to start slacking in this uni as well. wheeeeee.. off to bed i go.

i call it "i want to blog but have nothing to write about". it's a terrible thing because it makes me feel like nothing is happening in my life.

owh singapura-pura part 3

may, besty and yours truly made it down south once again. it was a pretty straight forward trip yet it was somewhat full of little surprises.

we did stick to the tried and trusted activities that guarantee fun. like having a photoshoot in the swimming pool. it was awesome-er this time cause the sun was actually out for a change.

we had chicken rice at the hdb across afie bum's condo. and the awesome jawesome milo ice.

we definitely went to bugis. that isn't even a question because bugis is the bomb. besty bought an iphone4. and i know now that they don't use the regular sim cards. i also found out that for such an expensive thing, the packaging is so....now should i say this....unfitting?? not matching?? tak kena?? whatever la...

i cooked dinner. so even if we end up at a fight club, our tummies wouldn't be empty. may did wonders with the mash potatoes. and that was the best carrot and beans i ever made.

the bearded guy on the left was royally pissed cause we were late and the queue was at least one and a half hours long. but we made it in. surprise of the trip number 1, i bumped into yuan wei in the one and a half hour long queue. and i got tipsy on his 8% beer.

..that's me and some older dude having a little boogie..

may left the next day and besty and i discovered the chocolate pizza at max brenner. wisdom to the wise, it is meant for sharing.

surprise of the trip 2, bumped into nik and ching at clarke quay where a random german dude just started talking to me. also, where a mat salleh called me out, gave me devil horns and said nice tee. i was wearing my coheed and cambria asia tour '10 tee. \m/

went to jb and had a cut cake sing song for vigsny's mum. broke bread with a priest from india who speaks tagalog. had amazazing cheese cake and finally got to see vigsny spin. what awesome sportsmanship!! i had a good time at walker's though i threatened to walk out if i heard "put your hands up" more that 5 times.

was all alone for an afternoon after besty went back on monday. had the wafer ice cream. went back the the apartment chilled out and went to swenson's with afie bum for dinner.

i came back sick but i can say that this time i did quite enjoy my trip down south. i have yet to go to universal studios, do the reverse bunjee and go for the night safari. but owh well, a traveler goes to see what he/she see or something like that.

that's the usual line i give maa every time i fall sick. that's how she knows that i am sick. so, being sick here's a rant or vent or whatever. i like two things at this precise moment which is 1813 and 47 seconds. one is shuffling which a cannot do because this flue has screwed my depth perception and i can't tell how far the floor is from my face. but congratulations to me cause i drove home after dropping charles to terms. two is blogshopping which i also cannot do right now cause i have no money. and staring at this screen is making me see fuzzy shapes. so, i'm going to sleep now. k thanks bye.

it's of utter annoyance that i know there's somewhere i want to go, or in this case, something i want to be a part of but it's just too far away that i cannot simply just put on my shuffle shoes and shuffle my way there. now, i've been carrying inside me this little amount of energy (cosmic or not, idk) which i have reserved for raving purposes.

yes, i'm so lifeless that raves are an outer body and outer mind experience for me. alas, there are no raves. so when asot 500 went global, i thought "owh yeay, good for all of you" knowing that i'd miss out again. that is until i checked the website of my top 5 djs like i do every month. yes, i'm so lifeless i crave dj gigs in the absence of raves.

i jumped out of the chair when i checked armin's tour dates. no, he's not stopping in malaysia. but he is stopping over at singapore on his way to sydney. and no, singapore is not too far to go for a dj gig, especially armin. of course, this entails rounding up a posse which i do not think will be too hard. i'm hopeful that i can find a bunch of asot fans who will not lose their ticket on the way to the club or suddenly declare they need a guiness in the middle of a mind blasting set.

singapura-pura pt2

i believes something is said about you, as a traveler, when you have one phone and four sim cards from different countries.

so, my second trip to singapura-pura was a lonesome one but i somehow enjoyed it. simply because when you're alone, you can take forever to do just one thing. i like that, spending the day somewhere and watching the world go by.

afie bum and i had max brenner twice at vivocity. the waiter there made a lasting impression. the first time, when i was ordering, he seemed to totally ignore what i was saying. and when i was done, he took his time to look at me, then at afie bum and then at me again. "are you two twins??" common question. afie and i get it all the time. the second time we went. he greeted us like we had been going there for years. secretly, i like that. gives me the warm fuzzies. it's a comforting feeling, who wouldn't like that? but then, when we ordered (churros), he seemed all puzzled why we didn't order the chocolate soup. don't know why, but i remember that waiter very well.

anyway, i spent that weekend in jb cause afie's friend was having a birthday celebration. sadly, it was at a seafood restaurant. after that, we adjourned to the most melayu club i've ever been to. i bet you my bottom dollar, afie bum and i were the only chinese patrons there. but the dj was alright. dirty dutch. it was nice.

we went to church the next day. and monday blues hit really hard. guess cause i had such a fun time with the people from jb. yeah, i'm talking about monday blues when i had absolutely nothing to do on monday. which was valentine's day. but i did somewhat celebrate valentine's day with afie bum. we went for max brenner and a movie.

flew back to bolehland the next day. during the flight, i was thinking that actually, if you let it sit for abit, sg can actually grow on you. i mean, all the pura-pura aside, sing is not that bad. i can think of two reasons. 1) max brenner and 2) bugis!!

hahaa.. i really like bugis. i spent practically the whole day there on monday. i'm actually looking forward to the next time i head down there. any takers?? *guiness dependent persons and lazy to walk bums need not apply.*

i am completely enjoying myself since daddy retired. it feels more than amazing to have him take me out for breakfast then drop me off at beauty school. and when school's out, he's there waiting to take me home. he's going back to work soon. many things will change. i wish him the best, but that means the luxury of calling him and saying "pa!! fetch me!!" is no more. shit, it's time to grow up again. pfft..

anyway, when daddy and i got home yesterday after beauty school, he called me out to the garden cause there was something i had to see. and true enough, it's not something i had ever seen before. he calls them twins. mum just say that they're stuck.

..owh oh,they're stucked..

me on the other hand, i think it looks like some kind of wonderful. it had rained and they looked like how flowers are supposed to look like in the little world inside my head. paid them a visit today as well. there's something about looking at them, it makes me feel peaceful.

i really hope tiny doesn't decide to eat them.

singapura-pura pt1

first of all, there was the night in the crummy hotel. and the horrid hot plate toufu. and the shock of finding tie guan yin in tea bags. that was dinner when i arrived. had drinks after dinner at blue jazz then went back and slept. big moving day was to follow. it was also the only night i stayed at bugis (definitely a part of singapore i've become fond of).

..you won't see this in your local bak kut teh shop..

the next day, we moved out of the crummy hotel into the lovely apartment. may joined us. we cleaned up. did some exploring and went shopping for the household. and had dinner with khor khor fon and che che colleen.

then, may and i went swimming in the amazazing pool and talked about victoria secret's models until it was time to meet stef at raffles. upon completion of the day's mission of obtaining internet and cable tv, stef went home after lunch while may and i went to blue jazz for afternoon drinks. then we went to orchard. we conquered far east plaza and wanted to walk among the masses in front of tangs but we were called to clarke quay. and we had delicious mexican food and margaritas with khor khor fon and che che colleen. we went home after dessert and people watching. yes, it was a very long day for may and i.

the boys arrived the next day. naturally, may and i took them to bugis. we walked through the market and then had thai food for dinner. we adjourned to clarke quay for drinks, we bumped into khor khor fon who was late to pick afie and che che colleen up.

we all four went for a dip the next morning. then, we went to the national museum, which was very educational and rather well done. we came across the lamewood festival. but we're not as indie as we would like to think we are. so instead, we went for the gareth emery gig at zouk at night with vigny. thanks to stef, we were there at 8pm and only got in at almost 11pm and gareth's set was only after 1am. we got a place in front of speakers, and i had a time out of my mind. i lost a bearing on my eyebrow piercing that night.

the next day, afie bum, me, may, besty and vigny went to have indian food for lunch. velvet went to the museum for the second time. the butter chicken we had was so good. one of the better ones i've had. yummeh. afie bum and i popped into mustaffa centre to get an ironing board, an iron and a stand fan. it took us 40 minutes tops. we came out smelling like chala bazaar. we lazed the rest of the evening away.

we went to some mall at somerset the next day. then we went to marina bay sands. may and i made good use of the wifi as we were facebook deprived. velvet read a sign wrongly and that resulted in us not being able to have a look at the casino. the weather was bad so we didn't go up to the observation deck. we took a walk one whole round the way to esplanade mall where we had max brenner. after that, we went to see the merlion.

we came back to malaysia the next day. made a pit stop at the zon for a few happy hour drinks and then at melaka for dinner. we reached seremban at about 1am. i had a rather ok time. it was great to spend the time with may as we haven't done this since after form 5. i don't really have much regrets over the trip except for maybe all the eating. i swear that it feels nothing like malaysia and culture shock is possible. to me, it felt much like hong kong, minus the awesome mango loh.

the second trip was lesser of a holiday. felt very routine-ish. but i enjoy waking up to the morning view of an awesome pool. part2 coming soon. didn't feel like a vacation, but it certainly was some form of escapism. you'll hear about that in my next post. =)

i will never forget all that blue

it comes to mind out of the blue, the countless shades of blue thrown into the water. only almost majestic. i think about the blue, when i think of perth australia.

the trip was not exactly what i thought it would be. but it was eventful. we stayed south of the river, north of the river, at margaret river and at albany. so, i've been up and down perth, at the edge of perth and where perth was once joined to antartica. i think i spent my 19 days in perth well.

i could tell you that there is no authentic australian lunch. i asked tau (who's been there for over a year now) to take me and afie for a typical australian lunch and he said "sushi". and really, everywhere you turned there's a sushi bar or a kebab stall. just so you know, chinese food in perth is hong kong chinese, so don't expect a ho chiak malaysian meal k.

afie and i had big ideas about shopping la. number 1, everything was damn mahal cause dollar was 3 times ringgit. number 2, fashion there is very very not our taste. in one afternoon, we round round the whole of perth city already. and we got acquainted with the flies that come out in summer. but we didn't know how chronic the condition with the flies were until later in our trip.

we stayed at maa's cousin's place, south of the river. uncle bobby and aunty may have a lovely home and we were kept comfortable at all times. we went to margaret river and stopped by some of its many many tourist attractions. we went to vineyard after vineyard for wine tasting, a cheese factory, a chocolate factory, a nut and cereal factory, an ice cream factory and a brewery. we were there for two nights.

finally la can see maa drinking beer. hahaa.. can comment about the beer some more. mass at margaret river was one of the slowest i've ever attended. from margaret river, we went to augusta. we stopped by cape leeuwin and managed to get a glimpse of a school of dolphins. maa caught a glimpse of a whale, but the three of us missed it because we were waving away flies.

cape leeuwin is also where the southern ocean meets the indian ocean. but of course, when you look at it, it just looks like an enormous, tempestuous body of water that has no end and you cannot tell the southern water from the indian water. i like to think that i've reached maldives since i've gone knee deep in the indian ocean. hahaa.. a girl can dream.

fire is my element according to astrology. but by choice, water is my element. standing in the freezing water where the ocean cannot tell if it's southern or indian, the waves breaking on the rocking shore moved me, in a spiritual sense. the power of nature is often taken for granted. i stood at the edge of perth, on the rocks of the identity confused shore, and many miles out (probably three football fields) there were waves breaking on stray rocks. the sight was one to behold, but the sound. the sound was a complete other. it was such a strong sound, like from three football fields away, it could still knock me off my feet.

i will never forget that sound.

from augusta, we drove past walpole and denmark to albany. that was almost epic because we almost ran out of gas and almost didn't have a gas station to fill up at. albany was cold but beautiful. we stood on the rocks that were supposedly connected to antartica before the earth decided that antartica would be far far far away from albany.

and this is where is saw it for the first time. hundred shades of blue floating on and endless carpet of water. it was as though, the blues were thrown like paint onto a living canvas and that masterpiece forever changed never holding the same pose for more than a second. the blue waves in the depth of it, to the white foam that crashed on the shore, hundred shades of blue that stole my heart. to be emo, i died in that moment seeing so much blue, like everything i want to see.

back in perth, we went to an animal park because, what is a holiday in australia without seeing roos and koalas. saw for the first time someone shear a sheep. i almost got up and yelled for the guy to stop. they poor sheep looked like it was in such distress. afie had to hold my hand. silly me, i know, but the poor thing looked like it was getting hurt. anyway, i milked a cow. hahaa.. and we petted roos and koalas.

then, we went to the beach. and there it was again. more than a hundred shades of blue. all along the coast. and the sky didn't have a single cloud in it. it was such a gorgeous day and that was such a lovely beach. i only wish we could have spent more time there. the current was strong. stronger than in bali. afie and i could barely even stand up. at one point, a little further in from where the waves break, the water was only at our ankles, but the waves came way over our heads. and the wind was blowing 90 degrees to the left.

we went to a monastery the day. saw the oldest funtional pipe organ in australia or western autralia. can't recall that detail. there we saw the first cloud in the sky in our whole stay up to then. afie would leave the next day. so, i was kinda bummed. and i had the awesome rave to think about. especially since i would be missing it. bla bla bla.. i don't want to talk about how awesome the rave was. never a good rave without me. bluek bluek..

we spent two nights at ah koo susan's. she stays in a new suburb north of the river. and she took us to fremantle, by the coastal highway. and i stared out my window at the blue ocean until i was dizzy and had to take a nap. fremantle on a week day is nothing to shout about. there are a ton of souvenir shops and the cash converters there is off the hook. bum bum would have loved to have a look around there, and i bet (if money wasn't a matter) he would have bought half the shop.

priya took us to hilary's boat harbour for churros. i was ecstatic since the plan to have churros with tau blotched. it was amazazing man!! you can choose to have white chocolate, milk chocolate or dark chocolate dip. mahal memang mahal.. but, it was worth the experience. i loved every bite of it. and i'm pretty sure mum felt the same.

we went for dinner at uncle bear's sister's house. it was refreshing to eat at aunty jessy's because (don't call me lame) i already missed malaysian food. *peace* her eldest son, joel, shared his music collection with me and gave me a ton of music. all of which i'm yet to get through. i'm proud to say that i finally have ministry of sound annual anthem collection. *peace peace*

dad also met up with an old friend from the kampung. a guy with a notorious past, which i can't believe. he was so nice to pick us up, treat us a lavish dinner and send us home. we ate at the casino. i don't know what it's called. heehee.. the casino there tak chantek. macau lagi chantek. but this time, mum didn't let us gamble because assie dollar three times bigger malaysian ringgit. unlike hong kong dollar two times smaller malaysian ringgit.

aunty may and uncle bobby took us to fremantle on the weekend and the sight was somewhat different. it was more holiday-ish. there were street performances, the market was open, and there was they lovely feeling of walking around being on holiday. that was a relaxing day for me cause it was the last leg of the trip. and it was walking around fremantle that i got the feeling like i had an awesome vacay.

we stayed the last night with aunty sylvia and uncle willie. they have the best fold-away bed in the world. but sleep was little as we woke up at 3ish to be at the airport at 4ish for a flight that was at 6ish. i couldn't sleep much in the plane which sucked cause i then came back grumpy and hungry. here are some random everyday things that i loved about my 3 weeks in perth....

the reality which i came back to was just a little below the average of the average standard that i keep. while on holiday, my assignment got late due to the near epic road trip to albany causing me and nina to lose 1percent on the paper. also, finals were knocking on my door. on top of that, i had to play catch up in beauty school too.

but here i am now. still fixated on those shades of blue.

1) my favourite shop in the world (at the moment) is molten lava in 1u.
2) i've really spared the camera this vacay.
3) perth has some of the best beaches i've ever swam in.
4) minyak kapak is the cure. what is the ailment?
5) the two people i've most mentioned are velvet and besty.
6) this almost means nothing without bum bum and afie bum.

i've not forgotten about this space.. it's just that i looked at it and couldn't write anything..

but here's a quick rant..

there have been no raves this year so far. and it doesn't look like there will be a rave anytime soon. the closest rave is in singabore and even that has a kinda not so on line up.

the first issue is, why aren't there any raves?? i mean, what the f?? i know, in all seriousness, that there are willing parties wanting to organise a rave for the malaysian market. and i know, in all seriousness, that these parties will make a killing from tapping into that said market. so, i can only presume legal matters stand in the way. to that end, i say booooo!! to all ye who stand in the way. BOOOOOO!!

the second issue is, what's with this whole trend pattern, pattern trend thing?? i say this with all due respect... david guetta has really made a name for himself by compromising his sound. his current sound has become so commercialised that it has turned into this seasons pop music. yet, he headlines zoukout 2010.

the third issue is, what the hell happened to rnb/hip hop music?? now, it's like everyone uses the same template. and that's how everyone wants to sound. there is no more rnb and hip hop on the radio, it's just pop music now.and with that goes the whole big daddy, i'm a gangsta, don't mess with me, i'm so rich i sweat kristal whatever.

the fourth issue is, how does all of this even happen?? it's when all of a sudden reaching the masses is more important than appreciating your niche just because that's how you make more money. and the masses just drink up whatever comes they're way while the niche crave for something of substance.

haih.. the music industry is in a bad place now. people can't seem to tell what is what anymore, but still they go crazy in like with everything.

house music has been so distastefully used by so many exploiting hands. but there is hope in trance music. my brothers and sisters in rave, take cover in armin's mirage and let gareth's northern lights guide you. and may the sweet mother of rave protected from the sell outs and wannabes.

i saw this picture of the cutest thing on tumblr. so i reposted. and then i clicked it. and then, it was enlarged. and it reminded me of the little fella that we had back home. and the look in the little thing's eyes. like it hoped that we would love him forever because he had already loved us with all his heart. i was briefly shattered. even more so because i cannot remember what's the last thing i said to him or did with him. all i remember is mum called me one evening and told me dad gave him away. i was crying in the bus and for the first seconds my schoolmates were making fun of me. and i was this shattered i guess. it was among the most joyful times i've known just to watch five little ones run after mum in the corridor. it's most sad somedays when i look at tiny.

because i cannot ever begin to imagine what is it like, to wake up one day and not have anymore brothers and sisters.

it was just like any other regular day. i get home, dump my stuff in my room and have a go at my drums. but that day was way different. i sat on my drum throne and i saw something i never expected to see.

mapex double bass paddles. i went nuts. i asked daddy when that happened and he said that he did notice bum bum fiddling with my drums but didn't know what he was up to.

..i love how they are extremely adjustable..

rupa-rupanya, it turns out that bum bum got me that mapex double bass paddles for chirstmas. and he would have hid it if he knew that i was coming back.

owh well, i appreciate the gift tremendously. there's no excuse for me not to practice double bass songs now. next on my list are cymbals. then, i will be once again *ahem* destined for greatness. right, bum??

i am more than happy to stay up late watching anything on tv as i am more than happy to follow dad around town as i am more than happy to roll around the living room with my dogs as i am more than happy to head out with gurl to have a round up platter at kenny's as i am more than happy to have a jam session with just myself and my mapex as i am more than happy to shuffle barefoot all over my house with the edifier system as loud as dad would let me have it as i am more than happy to walk to the bread factory that's one minute away from my house when they pull hot loaves out of the ovens as i am more than happy to finish half a loaf by the time i'm home as i am more than happy to spend time with velvet as i am more than happy to bully gurl's little niece as i am more than happy to make as much noise as i can when all five of us are home as i am more than happy to video call with besty on dad's compaq as i am more than happy to wash and wear the little amount of clothes i took home with me as i am more than happy to be just more than happy to do anything more than happy-ly.

or so says 311. the weekend was real good. the brasil-porto match was rather disappointing. i thought that we had so many chances especially when we held a solid lead in possession. by we, i mean brasil. afie bum was rooting for porto. anyway, afie bum's auditor, cassio, was a fun guy to hang out with. plus, he's brasilian. yes, they spell brasil with an 's' not a 'z'.

i've been having these itchy and not itchy spots on me for a few weeks now. and then, i woke up one morning with more or less than ten ulcers in my mouth. and then i got spots on my fingertips and toes. lucky for me, nina identified it after i asked her if there were illnesses that warrants multiple ulcers.

i skipped class and went to the doctor's who confirmed that i had contracted the coxsackie virus. yes, i'm twenty one(plus one) and i have been diagnosed with hand, foot and mouth disease. i'm probably the one in ten thousand adults to contract the virus.

i have no idea how i got it, but the doctor says that i could be because i haven't grown up yet. pfft.. displeased as this news made me, especially since i have classes and meeting to go to as well as the simon patterson gig. the doctor says that it should be no problem for me go about normally. but i'm sure that doesn't mean heading to zouk.

owh temptation.. especially since david approached me with guestlist. besty cheered me up by taking me to somewhere we both have been meaning to go to in awhile. and there, besides having hand, foot and mouth disease, my life was changed.

i like the feel of adolescent angst once in a while. it reminds me how young i want to always be. like right now, i'm texting and old friend when i'm supposed to be sleeping, just like i used to do when i was in secondary school.

buttons served me well for the one week that i've kept her. i don't think i can afford keeping a car though. on top of that, i don't think i can layan all the errands that come with having a car. i'd rather stay in bed and watch youtube vids til i remember i have an assignment due on monday. hahaa.. but this was an extremely fun week.

the family minus afie bum plus besty takes an overnight trip to history rich melaka tomorrow. here's to making new memories to rewrite the old history. and probably a night of epic proportions.

today in many ways tops yesterday. i gave bum bum the news that many people have been waiting for. he asked me "how did he take it??" i thought "pfft.. what a question.." when i opened my mouth to answer, bum bum gave me an answer that tops any that i could think of.. "don't know, don't care.."

the andy moor experience

it was a change of scene for me and besty last friday when we followed roo roo and smelly melly to euphoria for the andy moor gig. besty and i missed him the last time he was down in zouk. so, we put on our shuffle shoes (in my case footwear) and headed to sunway.

..four happy children..

it was an experience alright. two things, 1) the lights in euphoria are phenomenal for any malaysian club but more importantly 2) the sound system was awestuplendid (awesome, stupendous, splendid). jaytech did a fantastic job of warming the crowd. i can see myself youtube-ing him in the future. andy moor was just mind blowing. even down to the tee he was wearing. hahaa..

..i'd be happy to have one of those at home..

the crowd, as always, is a major turn off. for one, a notable majority of people, didn't know what was playing or even had a clue about the magnitude of andy moor. and i mean, there were alot of people who fell into this category. the only happy sight in the crowd was this middle age-ish couple rocking out with each other. i thought it was both cool and sweet. he was wearing chucks and she was wearing sketcher's. mental image burned into my long term memory.

..this pair looked like they were having a bomb and a blast themselves..

i had a great time. good company, great music and fantastic one liners.

gurl, roxy, and me plus shaun and his friends raj, kambing, harry and adib go went to eagle ranch for gurl's 22nd. the ranch was peaceful despite gurl and roxy praising it for being packed with activities. we ended up soaking up the sun, sinking in our sheets and throwing back barcadi and wine as well as eating.

..bbq woot woot!!..

it was nice to get out of the two star town with my girlies, though we really missed angel. the ranch was a rather long drive off, i say kinda worth it. the vacation as a whole was awesome. tino's pizza at 4th mile, bbq at 8th mile, one bottle of barcadi gone, a lovely afternoon in the sun, sinking in the sheets with gurl, crashing a doa selamat, throwing back 5 litres of wine.

i really hope that gurl had a good time. i'd really like to do this again. though it was more like a mini vacation, there's not one moment of it that i would change. i finally got to meet raj after knowing him for two years via phone and facebook. he's taller than he seems.

but you know what's not lame?? stereophonics. in fact, they're awefanbuzing (awesome-fantastic-fabulous-amazing). lame again, but they really were. they played a show that was out of this world. so, props to welsh band and crew. but NO props to the event management and organisers. nothing was much managed nor organised.

another thing that's not lame is iron man 2. watched it with velvet, his lovely lady and besty. did the usual thing of playing with them kiddie rides in the mall when we were like freaking early to collect our tickets. fun stuff anyhow.

enough about what's lame and what's not, regarding my previous post, i really was a nervous wreck and my palms were sweaty. imagine playing drums with sweaty palms. it's soooo not on. from the functional network, jeff introduced me to daniel and the two of them tried me out as drummer for their band. we jammed a good session. i hope good enough to land me that spot.

i worry about that, but as bum bum says, if you get it then you get it but if you don't you don't. it's my final sem in HELP and i wonder why i'm more interested to play in a band than to chase that cgpa. that's the life and times of aly.

funny what people name their businesses nowadays. anyway, i'm a nervous wreck. i'll be heading into the studio with strangers tonight. and i am not at all at my best.

bum bum says that i have to stop psych-ing myself out. but a job hangs in the balance and my credibility as a drummer hangs in the balance.

i can't help it. i'm only so eager to please. but really, i could really use a new scene.
